Thomas Mullett, New York, to Christopher Champlin, Esq., Newport, Rhode Island, 10 November 1783.
New York 10 Nov. 1783
Chrisr Champlin Esqr
Sir
As I do not see a probability of either Mr Cruger or myself having the pleasure of paying you our personal respects till the Spring I take the liberty of enclosing you one of our Circular Letters, and a list of those Articles which we think most advantageously imported from Bristol. Our Terms you will see are liberal, and as we mean to Select our correspondents and not to give a general Credit, we shall rely on the uniform punctuality of our Connections. My Partner Mr Cruger will winter here. His Address is at No 40 Wall Street. I go in a few days to the South for the Winter, and shall return early in the Spring. The Article of Flaxseed will answer only in Ireland, and best in the North Part of the Kingdom. You will be so good as to present my grateful acknowledgments to your hospitable family for your repeated Civilities, and believe me very respectfully for Co & Self
Sir, Yr Oblig & Obed St
Tho. Mullett
