Thomas Mullet, Philadelphia, to William Harris, York Town, Pennsylvania, 28 June 1791.
Philadelphia 28 June 1791 –
Sir
I did not receive yours of the 5th till this day. I find by Mr Ashley that very little, if any, surplus will remain in his hands, as you have recd the money of one of the bonds, you had made over to him as security.
It would have been much for your Interest to have paid Mr Troughtons demand agreeable to my proposal. I have only now to add, that my orders are peremptory, and, if you do not pay Messrs Clow & Co; or give them Security for the payment of the money, by the first day of September next, I have given directions to have the Law enforced in the most expeditious manner, which I trust you will render unnecessary by an immediate attention to this business.
I am Sir
Your very humbe obed.t Servt
Tho. Mullett
