Henry Crabb Robinson, [London], to William Ayrton, [London], 17 December 1845.
My dear Ayrton
Will you allow your Servant to leave the inclosed at Mr Thornto[ns]?
I leave it open, thinking you might have just the curiosity I had – It is written by – Cormenin [1] one of the great popular writers of the day – In my humble opinion it is arrant rubbish – But it is still curious as an evidence of national taste.
I am off tomorrow I expect
In haste
