Henry Crabb Robinson, [30 Russell Square], to William Ayrton, Thursday morning, undated.
My dear Ayrton,
I am very <–> sorry that you should put yourself to the trouble of taking so long a walk and thank you for your very kind letter.
As I sent you Collier’s letter so I have sent him with your’s – With a few words – It seems therefore that while obliged to both of you for the like kind intentions, have to thank for the execution you & not him.
Yet tho’ I could not do otherwise than forward your letter to him -- You must not consider me as at all acknowledging that I think he will do it a whit more satisfactorily than you would. In kindness of feeling [f. 75v] to me And in correctness of judgement towards others, I do not think there is a [pin?] to choose between you – The Misses W would have been as little able to choose between you as myself
your obliged
H C Robinson
