Henry Crabb Robinson, 30 Russell Square, London, to T. G. Osler, Esq., [London], 28 June 1854.
30 Russell Square
28th June 1854
My dear Sir
I leave town on Friday And do not expect to return till after the meeting at Cambridge of the Archaeol: Institute
This is of no consequence whatever – I have done all I wanted in drawing the attention of such men as yourself, Buske, Cookson, Field &c &c – And provided you all seriously think on the subject, I shall be satisfied whatever your decision may be
I can yield to your judgement – provided that judgement is not invalidated by the miscalled reasons stated by our friend which seem all but ridiculous –
Lawyers (saving your presence, to whom I wrote this And begging your pardon for the impertinence) are not less superstitious than parsons I believe But I expect that on this occasion they will shew they can retain their commonsense in spite of legal prejudice – I hope we meet to day
&c &c &c
H. C. Robinson
