Christopher Anderson, Edinburgh, to unnamed correspondent, 17 December 1842.
My dear Brother
I wish much that I could help you to what you wish, but I possess no copy of the Charter, nor do I know that there is a copy in this country. I hope however that without the sight you will avail yourselves of the advantages it may present for the training of Native Ministers. Moreover should you inform me that you have been entertaining some thoughts as to whether you might not be useful, as the Professor there, drawing up the first seeds of India unto God, tell Mr Angus that I will cordially & with genuine heart felt interest say, Go, and may the good will of Him who dwelt in the Bush ever rest on you both. You know however that I say this even though you should tarry at home. Still were you there I should rejoice and remain
Ever yours affy
Christr Anderson
