Andrew Armstrong, Stirling, to [Joseph Angus, Baptist Mission House, London], 7 March 1843.
Stirling 7 March 1843
Dear Sir
I have a nephew, a promising young lad going out to Columbo in Ceylon, as a clerk to a mercantile house there, and wish to introduce him to Mr Daniell[ii] though I am not personally acquainted with the latter, but think I have seen in a late Herald that Mr D. might be under the necessity of coming home in bad health, would you suppose that he may have left that by 3 or 4 months—if so would you favor me with the name of any other Baptist Missionary there to whom I may introduce my friend it may be an advantage to him—I regret Mr Harris’ return; you must just send out more—I am Dear Sir very cordially yours
Andrew Armstrong
P. S. I have been a Baptist for upwards of 30 years Mr Daniell’s name is familiar to me through the Bap.t Mag.e before he left England—
