(Decr 15. 1854)
Dear Mr Crabb Robinson
I am very happy to learn from your kind communication that there is a certainty of the transformation of the “Prospective” I trust that there is a sufficient guarantee for its being an Anti-diabolical Review – for though the Prince of darkness – how just the name! is honoured by such supporters as Chenevix French & Maurice, besides one of your own friends, – I should be very sorry if he were to cast a shadow upon this child of Light – when informed of the address of the Banker who received the subscriptions I shall add my name to the list of Contributors – & even should the Periodical fail “at the end of two years” it will have done enough to repay that aid.
You will see by the enclosed that my prospect for Ralph is rendered very doubtful by other views which have been opened to Lt Arnold – As he is in town you may learn more from himself than I can tell you.
In the freshness of my answer to your letter received an hour ago you will find an excuse for its brevity – Are you not coming to Brighton?
Ever yours truly
A I. Noel Byron.
