Henry Crabb Robinson, [London], to N. Warner Bromley, [Bansfield Hall], 19 April 1861.
L: 30 Russell Square W.C.
19th April 1861
My dear Sir,
I would not have answerd your kind letter if the answer had called for any exertion of thought or attention on your part I write merely to say that as a matter of idle gossip Mr Kitchener is to call on me at the Athenaeum on Monday when he comes to Town to fetch Mrs K. who is at Mrs Thornton’s
And that I wrote a week back to Mr John Greene whom I understood to be the acting Executor to Mr Saml Buck (This I find is a Mistake Mr Ed: Green being the Executor) to make Mr. S: Buck dead I said I had a small professional favour to ask of him I would remit the fee &c &c I have had no answer – And it appears strange to me – It may be that he has directed his agent to do it – And it is not yet done. This is a formal matter for Mrs Thornton in which Mr S. B: and my brother were trustees But if I do not take care, I shall break thro’ the rule I had laid down to myself
I shall not expect to hear from you till your return from your wedding tour My best remembces to Mr and Mrs K and your Sister And to Mdlle when she becomes Madame. Ceasing to be a bride in Germany when she becomes one in England –
Very truly your’s
H. C. Robinson

Esquire
