My Dear Sir,

         It gives me pleasure to reply to the inquiry in your letter received the other day.  The Rev. John Collett Ryland, who for many years was minister at Northampton, was the father:  D.r John Ryland was the son.  D.r Ryland was settled for a short time at Northampton and in 1793 became Pastor of the church at Broadmead, Bristol, and President of the College, succeeding D.r Caleb Evans.  He died in 1825.  I trust this information will serve the purpose you have in view.  With all good wishes  I am
