Benjamin Cox, St. Thomas Street, Borough, to John Rippon, Southwark, 27 July 1814.
Revd & Dr Sir,
My brother William has this morning enterd upon his studies in the Apothecaries Shop – his time there is from 11 to 3 – I should feel particulary oblig’d by your hinting him to the choice of those books which he should read, to occupy his leisure moments – his disposition is [?] & will yield to any suggestion. I feel very anxious that his time should be fully employed – & he himself is impressd with the importance of it – trust you will excuse my giving you this trouble – believing, from numerous acts of kindness already performed, you will still continue to exercise a continuance of them
I am
Revd & Dr Sir
Yr most obliged & devoted Servt
B Cox
