Christopher Palmer (17 May 1741-13 November 1808) married Sarah Moxon (1742-24 November 1787) on 6 August 1767 at St. Clement Eastcheap. A Sarah Palmer was buried on 25 November 1787 in Clerkenwell, as a Nonconformist (see "England and Wales Non-Conformist Record Indexes (RG4-8), 1588-1977," for Clerkenwell, p. 169. The only children to survive into adulthood were Edward (1770-1831), Mary (1773-?), Nathaniel (1664-1840), Samuel (1775-1848), and Sarah (1779-1859).

Edward Palmer was born on 12 November 1770 and christened on 21 November, St. Clement Eastcheap with St. Martin Orgar, London. He died from an overturned stage-coach on 26 October 1831, living at that time in Clapham (formerly of Throgmorton Street, London). His will was proved on 26 November 1831. According to a letter by Samuel Palmer the artist, in 1780 "my uncle Edward Palmer who had run away from Walworth to enjoy the 1780 Riots, had been found fast asleep among the cavalry horses in the Royal Exchange, and was receiving discipline at home” (Lister, Letters, vol. 2, p. 1028). Edward married a second time in 1799 to Elizabeth Bates, daughter of Benjamin Bates of Stockwell, in whose home she died in 1812. He operated as a druggist first at 35 Houndsditch in 1795, then at 62-65 Aldersgate Street (with Fynmore), and then with Fynmore for 20 years on the property at 31 Throgmorton Street. It appears that upon his second marriage, he became an Anglican; all his children were christened in the Anglican Church.
a. Elizabeth Teresa Palmer christened on 29 June 1802 (no birth date given), at St. Ann, Blackfriars, London.
b. Edward Palmer, born 1 July 1803, christened 30 July 1803, at St. Bartholomew Exchange, London. He died at Leeds in 1872, aged 69. He married Jemima Closs Law Palmer in 1828 at St. Giles, Southwark. He became a bookseller and early entrepreneur in scientifical and chemical apparatuses at 103 Newgate Street, retiring in 1842, having received an inheritance from the estate of his uncle, Nathaniel Palmer.
c. Christiana Palmer, born 20 October 1804, christened 20 September 1804, at St. Bartholomew Exchange, London.
d. Sarah Palmer, born 9 January 1806, christened 5 February 1806, at St. Bartholomew Exchange, London.
e. Joanna Palmer, born 11 August 1807, christened 7 September 1807, at St Bartholomew Exchange, London. Most likely this child was named after Joanna Dunkin Palmer, Edward Palmer's sister-in-law.
f. Benjamin Palmer, born 15 November 1808, christened 27 April 1809 at St. Bartholomew Exchange, London.
g. Nathaniel Palmer, born on 15 December 1809, christened on 26 January 1810, at St. Bartholomew Exchange, London. Most likely this child was named after Nathaniel Palmer, Edward Palmer's brother.
h. Christopher Palmer, born 11 February 1812, christened 25 March 1812, at St. Bartholomew Exchange, London.
Sarah Palmer was born on 25 February 1772 and christened on 5 March 1772, St. Clement Eastcheap with St. Martin Orgar, London. Died young.
Mary Palmer was born on 26 April 1773 and christened on 20 May 1773, St. Clement Eastcheap with St. Martin Orgar, London; death date is not known, but she was living with her sister, Sarah Giles, in Margate in 1842.
Nathaniel Palmer was born on 10 May 1774 and christened on 20 May 1774, St. Clement Eastcheap with St. Martin Orgar, London. He married Joanna Dunkin (c. 1777-1861 on 21 June 1798. He died in March 1840; no children survived into adulthood or were living at that time of his death. [See entry below for the Dunkin family.]
Samuel Palmer, Sr., was born on 1 October 1775 and christened on 6 December 1775. He married Martha Giles (born on 3 April 1778) on 25 October 1803, St. Mary Newington, Southwark. He died on 17 December 1848 and was buried at Nunhead Cemetery on 23 December 1848; she died on 11 January 1817 and was buried on 25 January at Greenwich Cemetery.
a. Samuel the artist was born on 27 January 1805 and died in 1881; his birth was registered at Dr William's Library on 4 September 1828. He married Hannah Linnell, daughter of John and Mary Ann Palmer Linnell, She was born on 8 September 1818 and entered on 1 March 1820 in Dr. Williams’s Library Register of Births, 1817-20, by Thomas Morgan, #3561. She died ind 1893. They had three children:
a. Thomas More Palmer (27 January 1842-11 July 1861).
b. Mary Elizabeth Palmer (1844-15 December 1847).
c. Albert Herbert Palmer (25 September 1853-1931).
b. William was born on 9 December 1814; his birth was registered at Dr Williams's Library on 4 September 1828. He married Mary Ann Harding on 27 February 1837 at St. James, Piccadilly, and most likely was the William Palmer, living at that time in West Hackney, who died on 31 July 1866 (death date from Raymond Lister, Samuel Palmer: His Life and Art (Cambridge: Cambridge UP, 1987), p. xiii). In the 1851 Census for England and Wales, for Middlesex, St. Pancras, Somerstown, Enumeration 24, pp. 56-56, entry 247. He was living at 3 Metropolitan Buildings, St. Pancras, and working as an attendant still at the British Museum. His wife was Mary, aged 37 was originally from Wrotham, Kent (her age is incorrectly recorded on the Family History record as 27), the same age as her husband. At the time of the 1851 census, William and Mary had four children:
a. Emily Palmer, age 12, born c. 1839, in Marylebone, and listed as a “Scholar”
b. Samuel Palmer, age 11, born in Marylebone, London, c. 1840
c. Agnes Palmer, age 6, born in Hackney, c. 1845)
d. Joseph, six months old, born in St. Pancras.
c. Martha was born just prior to her mother’s death and was buried next to her in Greenwich on 28 June 1817.
