Dear Sir
The proprietor of Public Characters an 8.vo work now in the press, having signifyed to me, a wish that I should supply a Memoir or Life, of some eminent Public Character I take the liberty to impart to you my anxious wish, that you would favor me with some account of yourself, so as to occupy 6 or 8 sheets of paper in writing, which I think will come within the plan he wishes, and be a very valuable addition to his Living Biography which comprises the first Characters of the age. I feel no doubt myself if you can favor me with the materials, interspersed with anecdotes of persons, and of the Arts; but that such a memoir may be produced as will do honor to all concerned—Do be kind enough yo think of this as the Article will be wanted as fast as we can write it—
Excuse this liberty—from
Yours truly
John Feltham
PS. I hope to call on you in a day or two.
