Henry Crabb Robinson, 3 King’s Bench Walk, London, to Maria Flaxman, [London], 15 February 1820.
My dear Miss Flaxman –
It is not to make a formal enquiry that I write this note: But I am anxious to know how your brother is – The tenderness of his nature will however be so corrected by the enviable strength of his religious convictions that I trust he will soon feel as well as know that the dispensation tho’ afflicting has been a wise one. With Mrs Flaxman’s encreasing infirmities, how infinitely more distressing would it have been had she been the survivor. I do not ask you to write, but speak to Davis if you can – And tell him about what time you would have me call – If not, favor me with a note[.]
My best remembrances to Mr Flaxman & Miss Maria Denman when you think proper
Very truly your’s
H. C. Robinson
