William Burnham, Maidenhead, Berkshire, to the Managers of the Particular Baptist Fund, 20 August 1795.
Dear Brethren in the Lord,
I beg leave to inform you, that having obtained Help of God, I continue to preach at Bisham in the County of Berks. A considerable Auditory attend my Ministry, and I have reason to believe the God of all Grace has made it instrumental in bringing some Souls to a saving Knowledge of Himself, and I hope a regular Gospel Church will (in due time) be formed.
The People among whom I am called to preach a Crucified Redeemer are mostly poor, consequently they can do but little for their Minister – Having six Children, my eldest Child (a Girl, fourteen Years of Age) being a Cripple, and my Circumstances but slender, I again take the Liberty humbly to solicit your kind Assistance, which If you should think proper to give will again be receiv’d with unfeigned Gratitude by
Your most obliged, and very respectful Brother, in the Faith and Fellowship of the Gospel –
William Burham
