Rev. Coriolanus Coplestone [Copleston] was a student of Philip Doddridge at Northampton in the class of 1736. He commenced his ministry at the Old Meeting, Buckingham, in 1740, and then moved to Princes Risborough in 1744. In 1761 he conformed to the Church of England. He subscribed to Volume 1 of the Family Expositor in 1739 and Volume 4 in 1753. He appears in 5 letters in Nuttall's Calendar. See Part 3, Letter 4, where Coplestone is described in 1739 (while still at Northampton) as already supplying various pulpits (including Norwich for Thomas Scott) and was also serving as Doddridge's personal secretary. A Thomas Coplestone (his brother?) also attended at Northampton (class of 1740).
