Dear Brother ,
A few days since I received a letter from my son dated New York Oct 14 saying he had seen Mr Dunn and that I was to direct to the care of Mr D—. The last you was so kind to forward arrived safe in May In the month ^of August^ I received a letter from my Son ^dated May^ saying his uncle with whom he was going to settle was dead and left him property nearly £1000 government had taken to it before his arrival but had now yielded it up to him – He has begun business in the Book way at New York – I have taken the liberty to inclose two Letters one to him and one to Mr Dunn which beg you will forward by the first conveyance and if not directed proper you will please to correct it – The last time I wrote you I desir’d in future to have but one Register but suppose you forgot it as I had two as usual beg you will send but one in future – I received a Letter a few days since from Bovey and Mrs Puddicombe told me her letters which she received from Mrs D by same port came to London and it is probable you would have an opportunity of sending soon – shall take it kind if by return of post you will give me a line to say if you are going to send soon as by that I shall know when the time of my letters going of[f] – wishing you every needful support great success in the Lords vineyard and much of his divine presence I remain most affly
