Richard Newton

Rev. Richard Newton (1676-1753) was originally from Northamptonshire. He was the first Principal of Hart Hall, Oxford, which he founded as  Hertford College, Oxford, in 1739, remaining as the first Principal until his death in 1753. That same year he had subscribed to Volume 4 of Doddridge's Family Expositor.
