Catherine Clarkson, [Playford], to Henry Crabb Robinson, [London], undated (placed together with previous letter of 5 November 1853).
My dear friend
I am afraid I did not mention as I ought to have done, that I fully expected you with Mrs Wordsworth but beg her not to lay her plans so as she cannot give me more than 2 days – How pleased I shall be to [see] one of the next Generation
The Bury paper yesterday tells that the Council of Kings Coll have condemned Maurices book (Essays) & adds that Dr Colenso has dedicated a Sermon to him & intimates that he is still more heterodox than Maurice I cannot think that my Scotch connection as you call him would write against M— but I am sure his conscience would not let him say any thing in his favor
Remember me kindly & affectionately to Mr Hoare
Yours ever
C. C.
