Joseph Stennett, Kentish Town, London, to John Rippon, London, Monday morning, postmarked 21 December 1795.
Monday morning
Kentish Town
My dear Sir,
I did not receive yours till yesterday forenoon, when I was going to Meeting. I wish I could have seen you before this time, but I am now so particularly circumstanced, the distance is so great, & the weather so unfavourable, that I cant get at you. Will you excuse me if I say, Don’t be hasty about the drawing of my Father. Here again, I wish I had seen you – I know what my dr father’s Ideas were abt heads in periodical publications. I wd, as far as I can in every matter follow his views. It will much hurt me if any thing indifferent makes its appearance. – With regard to biography – I know not what I may in [future] have occasion for – Some of his works will be reprinted, what new ^or when^ I cannot say –
Yr affecte frd & Bror
J Stennett
I intend, if nothing particular prevent, being at ye Jamaica Coffee House tomorrow aftn – you wont take amiss any thing I say.
