My dear Sir
I should have replied to yr favour sooner, but have been unable to ascertain any thing positive about the vessels for Africa Mess Fitzhugh Walker & Co’s memorandum was a copy of our L’pool trade list & thus could only refer me to it.
The John Campbell & another called the Windermere, are suitable ships & do not sail for a month yet, but I cannot yet ascertain whether they will land passengers at Fernando Po, but hope to have their reply in a few days & will again write you, the “Martha” the vessel we wanted the Captn to alter, only got away on Tuesday, she had been a little damaged in the late gales; I suppose it is still a Missionary & Wife, my difficulty is on account of the Lady, & please to say if they would go provided they had to land at Bonny & run the risk of being taken fm thence to Fernando Po, in the meantime believe me
Yours very truly
Richd Johnson.
