Olinthus Gregory, Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, to William Wilberforce, 16 November 1811.
Sir,
About three weeks ago I took the liberty of sending you a copy of a work I have recently published entitled “Letters on the Evidences, Doctrines, & Duties of the Christian Religion,” and for which I solicited a place in your library. At the same time, I sent off parcels to a few other Gentlemen, some of which were unfortunately stolen from the Coach Office, and never reached the places of their destination. I am much afraid the one I intended for your acceptance, was among the number thus lost: and therefore beg leave to enquire whether that was the case; in order that if [it] did not reach you, I may do myself the pleasure of presenting another copy. I have the honour to be, though personally unknown to you,
Sir,
Yours with sincere esteem,
Olinthus Gregory.
