John Sutcliff, Olney, to John Rippon, London, 6 August 1803.
Dear Bro:
Received at last the Hymn Bk. No other had been sent. I remitted the money £1.4..6. on March 7th – Hope you received it safe. In yours a few before you say, “As all an excuse please to accept a small selection [on] bad coloured paper, &c.” You’ll not be very angry, if I say, you forgot to send it.
Sincerely I sympathize with you under your late trials. Am glad to hear your health is better, especially that so much prosperity attend your Church.
Probably you have no knowledge of a conscientious young man, a barber & hairdresser, who wants to live with a religious master in that line. Such a person might have a place in Olney.
With usual love, & best wishes, I rest,
Yrs in our L J C
