William Aryton

William Ayrton (1777-1858) was a musician and editor of The Harmonicon and one of the founders of the London Philharmonic Society. His son, William Scrope Ayrton, married Margaret Alsager (1826-1898) in 1847; the latter was a close friend of Basil Montague, and together they published a number of books entitled ‘Reports of Cases in Bankruptcy’.
