Printed resolutions of the meeting of the committee for West-Riding which met at Wakefield, 30 December 1789, Pemberton Milnes, chairman.  

They have appointed as their delegates for a national meeting in London, whenever it should occur, John Pemberton Heywood for the Presbyterians; Rev. Mr. Grove for the Independents; and William Hudson, Esq. for the Baptists.  Wood is designated secretary again.

 Among the 20 resolutions passed, the committee notes 

“That as we are forbidden by the first Principles of our Dissent, to deny to any of our Fellow Subjects that Liberty which we claim for ourselves, so our Allegiance to the State, our Reverence for the Laws, and a Regard to our own welfare as members of the Commonwealth, forbid us to engage in any Attempt to overthrow the Established Church, or to disturb its tranquillity by Acts of Violence; that we trust we are united with it in the common Bond of Christianity, and that were we ever to engage in a Controversy with it, we should depart from our professed Character, by having Recourse to any Measures besides those of fair Reasoning and Argument, which if they be not well founded will do our Opponents no Harm, and if they be not offered with Christian Candour and Moderation, will be highly dishonourable and hurtful to ourselves.”
