Henry Crabb Robinson, 30 Russell Square, London, to Lady Anne Isabella Noel Byron, [no address], 28 May [1855].
[f. 101r]
Sat: Morning Early
May 28th
30 Russell Square
Dear Lady Byron,
Mr Macdonald left his card without his address yesterday – I now no one more likely to take an interest in the matter of the inclosed errance than himself perhaps you may be able to forward it to him
It is my intention to attend one of the Services And whichever it be, I may probably call in Stratton Street at the close –
You will be surprised to hear that the offices of Principal of Univ: Hall has been solicited by and granted to an M. A of Wadham Coll Oxf: An appointment which meets with the full approbation of J. J. Tayler and James Martineau.
This mental ca ira! ca ira which the hopeful among us are willing to sing will not prove so deplorable as falschord as the political cry lyeingly screeched 70 years ago – So I hope at least as I ought to have written at first you excuse these blunders –
Mrs Barwell informed of me of your temporary change of residence
&c &c &c
H. C. Robinson
