A portion of a John Ryland, Jr., letter, most likely to Rippon, undated, but most likely from the 1790s. The letter has been “x’d” out from top to bottom, and Rippon has added various notes in his shorthand style on the back of this letter.
What have you done for poor Cary [William Carey?]? Can you not help him as to Lady Abneys Money?
I must entrust you with another Case, but you did not say whether you receive them.
Did you send the dialogue to the Miscellany? Did you make my Alterations? – Study to Closet.
I rec.d a Letter f.m Mr Cox last Night, & one f.m Mr Bowles Mr Bowles seems in great haste for his Money – I wish Mr Cox had specify’d who are paid since yours & who not.
It is hardly fair to pay London debts so irregularly & then send for Country Money to make up defficiencies [sic].
But I’l write to Mr Cox in a day or two – We unite in best Respects I am ever Yours
J. Ryland jun.r
