Lydia H. Sigourney, Hartford, Connecticut, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Angus, [London], 30 March 1842.
My dear M.r & M.rs Angus,
Your kind letter of March 3d, by the long detention of the Steamer, reached me only last evening the 29th, and fearing that the Hymns which you desired [missing portion here blocked] . . .
I thank you for writing me on your blessed anniversary, and am thankful to God for all his distinguishing mercies to you. May his shield of love ever be around you. Thank dear Caroline for her letter & say that I will answer it, as soon as my sick ones are better. I wrote Maria a fortnight since, but the letter will not go before the present opportunity. With love to all our dear friends, I am ever affectionately yours
L. H. Sigourney
