Henry Crabb Robinson, [London], to William Ayrton, [London,] Tuesday, 17 May 1842.
My dear Ayrton
I shall think myself very lucky indeed if you are disengaged on Saturday for if you are I have no doubt you will willingly come & dine with me at Six precisely in order to play whist at eight precisely. The dinner is to be a bachelor one – It has been got up this morning – The full invitation made & accepted at once in confidence that I shod make up a party And I have already got my four but I counted on you from the [f. 79v] first –A fifth is desirable in such cases – so pray come – I shall be here tomorrow so leave a line for me with the porter.
