Dear Sir./
Please to give attentive consideration to the enclosed papers, & communicate to me your thoughts respecting them. The Copy of my letter to Mr [Edwin] Field will explain the views with which I have prepared them. I was in hopes to have seen him at the Professor’s meeting last night, & that we there might have taken the opportunity of conferring about further proceedings We would not now lose time. You may command my attendance at any place, and almost at any time (except on Monday next when I shall be occupied all day in preparing for a Meeting of the Commee <–> [?] on Tuesday) if a conference be thought advisable.
