Rev. William Hextall (1711-77) was originally from Kettering. He studied under Doddridge at Northampton (class of 1732) and then ministered to Independent congregations at Creaton, Northamptonshire (1736-51), Friar Street, Sudbury (1751-62), Castle Hill in Northampton (Doddridge's former congregation) (1762-75), and then in King Street, Northampton (1775-77). He was a subscriber to Volume 1 of Doddridge's Family Expositor in 1739 and Volume 4 in 1753. His death in November 1777 was relayed in a letter by Mary Doddridge to her mother, Mercy Doddridge.
