  My dear Friend,

  You will excuse my troubling you with these few lines, to inform you how I am . . . Your last letter I thank you for, but should have said it displayed too much goodness of heart, did I not know that you have such abundance as can never be exhausted, and therefore you need not be an economist of it. . . .
