My Dear Sir
I am sorry to hear of Mrs Haldanes health & pray that underneath may be the everlasting arms & that the Lord may recover her to wonted strength.
This morning I tried to improve the removal from us of your much esteemed Father, and but for my being out of Town wd have very willingly complied with your request as to next Lords day – I leave this D. V. on Tuesday and shall not get home I believe till Thursday week.
