Andrew Fuller, London, to the Revd John Williams, New York, 24 October 1810.
London 24. Oct./10
My dear bror
I just ^drop^ a line by our friends Johns & Lawson who are going with their female companions, and a Miss Chaffin to India via America, to introduce them to your acquaintance and that of the good people at New York, while they shall have occasion to stop there. They are all, both men and women members of baptist churches, and honourable characters. I mean to send by them a few P.A. [Periodical Accounts] which tho’ the intelligence may not be new to you, yet will inform you of some particulars.
You have a Mr Cauldwell who went from Birmingham, and who has always been happy in shewing kindness to the Mission in any way. Commend our friends to his kind attentions. They thought at first of going direct to Philaa; but as the Ship wh was most suitable was bound for N. Y. and as the removal of their packages from thence to Philaa may be expensive, tho’ they may visit Phia, yet I expect they will, if they can get a ship from N. York to India in the Spring, go from thence. Whether they do so however, or not, as we shall leave it to their discretion to judge what is proper; yet they will be sometime with you, and we doubt not but you will assist them in getting accomodations at as little expense as may be. Present my Christian love to Mr Cauldwell, and to and accept the same yrself fm your Affecte bror
A. Fuller
