Abraham Booth, London, to Samuel Jones, Lower Dublin, Pennsylvania, 31 January 1792.
London, Jany 31, 1792.
Dear Sir,
I thank you for your long Letter, dated Nov. 30, 1790. It was a long time from the date before it came to hand; & even now I acknowledge the favour, I cannot show my respect to your arguments, by entering on a further discussion of the subject in dispute between us. The reason is, A Defence of my Paedobaptism Examined, is very much desired by the Baptists here, in answer to a book which the Author pretends to be a full reply to mine; & I have entered on the subject of that Defence. I therefore being extremely slow in composing any thing worthy of public view, & having many inavoidable avocations; cannot now spare time further to examine your hypothesis, even though I humbly conceive you are under a mistake of some importance. – Excuse the brevity of my letter, & believe me to be, with earnest prayers for your comfort & usefulness,
dear Sir,
yours in Christ Jesus,
A. Booth
