William Carey, Serampore, to Nathaniel Wallich, [Calcutta], [c. mid-1820s][5].
My dear Sir
I send you all the Calomel I have. – At the last meeting of the Asiatic Society a paper was read stating the beneficial effects of the Seeds of Hybiscus Abelmoschus in cases of Hydrophilia. The writer had himself been cured by it, and stated that it is used in South America for that purpose. Would not this be a good opportunity to give it a trial.
Yours truly
W Carey
