John Ryland, Bristol, to Daniel Sutcliff, at John Fawcett’s, Ewood Hall, Halifax, Yorkshire, undated [postmarked 1822].
My dear sir
Your letter is just come. I think Mr Burnett a very godly man, he has good views of the gospel, but not the clearest way of expressing himself. I think his family has been lessen’d by death, and I suppose part are grown up. He has been used to lie hardly. Yet it is a serious thing to propose a removal so far – However he wd at first come alone, and you must judge for yourselves.
I beg my best Respects to Dr Fawcett and his Son, tho’ the latter is unknown to me. You do not mention your address, and I know not where to lay my hand on your former letter. I am
Your’s affectionately
John Ryland
