Baptist Noel, Walthamstow, to unnamed correspondent, 22 September [?].
My dear Sir
As I am glad to lend even the smallest aid to the Antislavery cause, when it does not interfere with prior duties, I am sorry that besides the other employments which generally prevent my making additional engagements on the last week in the month, I have on the Evening of the 29th to entertain the members of our book club at my home shortly after the hour mentioned pr your meeting – It would have given me pleasure also to have met your social circle before the meeting – Believe me my dear Sir
Very sincerely yours
A. W. Noel
