Shute Barrington, Bishop of Durham, at Cavendish Square, [London], to John Ryland, Jr., Bristol, 4 March 1805.
Cav. Square March 4. 1805.
Revd Sir,
The progress in printing the Arabic Bible has been impeded by the death of the Editor the Revd Mr Carlyle; & ^by^ many difficulties in procuring the delivery of the types from the Printer engaged by Mr Carlyle at Newcastle.
I have endeavoured to obtain the best information in my power expecting the oppressive Law of which you justly complain. The result of my inquiry is that the Law is actually repealed. I trust that my information is correct & if it be very sincerely congratulate you & your Brethren.
I am with regard
Your humble Servt
S. Dunelm. [Barrington often signed his letters in this manner.]
