John Hemming, No 6, North Side, Royal Exchange, to John Rippon, London, 14 September 1802.
Dear Sir
I shall be much obliged to you to let me know where I can purchase some of your Arrangements of Watts Psalms & Hymns in Sheets, I have applied to Mr Button who says he can only sell them bound & I bought one at your Vestry bound, but the reason why I want some in Sheets is, that I may make ^write ^ and Index of the first Line of every verse except the first, similar to one lately published by Corrall to bind with it – this would make it quite complete, but at present it is to me inconvenient. I am rather deaf & when a minister or Clerk gives out a Psalm from the old Editions perhaps my Ear does not catch the Metre or Part & before [fol. 191v.] I can find it out the first Verse is over & I know not where to find the others – I wish to have 4 Copies in Sheets of the thickest Edition 2 Columns in each Page –
I am Sir
Your obt Servt
