John Rippon, London, to the Revd John Williams, New York, 14 June 1804.
London June 14. 1804.
Rev & dear Sir,
This is only to introduce to your notice, the bearer, Mr Purser, who is one of the worthy members of ye Church of which I am Pastor – if he shall apply to you for transient communion, you will I doubt ^not^ cheerfully admit him on ye ground of this Testimony.
I should certainly have been glad to have written to you a long letter if time permitted – but Dr Ryland is just come in from Bristol, & since his arrival sevl other people, so that he will have more time to write than I can obtain to day.
Any Direction you can give to Mr Purser (he will need nothing else) I shall be much obliged to you for. Particularly be pleased to introduce him to Mr Bowen for whom he has a Letter. I beg to be remd to Mr Ezekl Robins & any other of our Christian Friends.
How goes on yr Mission among ye Indians. Is Mr Holmes engaged yet in their Service now? I wish to be much acquainted with him – ye first opportuny you have please to inform him of it.
Your very affecte frd & bror
J Rippon
