Dear Sir,
I am just leaving for the South of France, & cannot be at the meeting on Nov. 20. If Brockwell Park can be purchased on reasonable terms, there can be no question that its possession by the public wd be an inestimable boon. London grows so fast that the immediate provision of open spaces is absolutely needful. If this opportunity shd be lost, it will be regretted throughout all the time. I would go heart & soul for securing this park if the means can be found witht putting too much pressure upon rate or tax payers, whose burdens are already most serious.
With thanks to you for moving in the matter
I am
Yours heartily
C. H. Spurgeon
